Looking back 34 years and counting my Blessings.
Dear God,
As I write this I am steadily approaching the Age of 34. I look back on what the past 33 years and i am forever grateful to you.
I have found Love, and lost love made love and gave love, I have been in love and out of love but as I approach 34 I have never been more assured about your perfect love for me and how you continue to love me inspite of my self.
God my thirties have been tough. I don’t feel like I have accomplished much, and I don’t think that if I died today many would remember me. Even the gifts and talents you gave me I don’t feel I have used them to their full potential. My musical career is still non existent and my business is too young to even call a business, yet still I have a lot to be thankful for.
God, thank you for…
- Boji…and new beginnings
- Lily, Sheila and Jessica and great family!
- thanks for Mum and Dad and how far you have brought them
- thanks for Kevin, he is a great little boy and I couldn’t ask for more.
- thank you for giving me a great voice and I hope I will be able to use it for your glory.
- Thanks for giving me patience to deal with the very difficult and tiresome things in my life
- Thanks for giving me a Job that has helped many others find work
- Thanks for my health, I have put on a bit of weight but, I guess in a way that is a blessing too
- Thank you for the cross, and thank you for your grace
- Thank you for 34 years of rollicking good times!
As I approach my Birthday God you know I don’t have a penny in my pocket but I am trusting you like I always have to take care of my family, and I trust that you will supply my every need according to your riches in glory.
Love always
Alfy!
PS. Boji… This one is dedicated to you, the next chapter of my story.
Always good to be thankful……very good example for the rest of us….however there’s one notable “thanks” missing………..regardless
that is really nice…by the way, who or what is Boji?
Wow, beautiful and touching piece… If only we can all count our blessings and acknowledge new beginnings this much…
I agree with Jones tho…
All the very best of it all…
Thanks…have you subscribed? Gloria?
Alfred,
Life is a journey, sometimes up and sometimes down, sometimes straight ahead. I don’t wish for you “straight ahead” because I have always found that the valleys are where I grow the most in my relationship with God. Then I can look back down from the mountaintop and celebrate how He has led me.
I do wish His blessing on you in the year ahead and a growing relationship with Him. All the best in the next chapter.
Wonderful letter Alfy….
May God’s blessings abound to you
In every little way
May you taste and see His goodness
Every time you kneel to pray
May your day be brightened more
With your Father’s loving touch
And may you sense He’s with you now
And loves you very much.
Happy birthday!
First of all, who or what is “Boji”?
Second of all – you are so unconditionally loved by us, ‘warts’ and all. You are our Freddy, and we think the world of you.
Third of all – I agree with Jones up there…
…and lastly, please don’t be a stranger. If you ever need anything, anything at all, I am here for you – still… I have your back little brother. Many happy returns of the day.
Alfy,God richly bless you for this piece.
Everything relates to me,except thre names and the age
I’m grateful that God is using you to speak to us
All the best….
Greg
